This is why we are maniacs about articles

There is a a dog in this photo—a Belgian, not a spaniel. There’s a glove too. The handler is precisely 20 ft behind the dog. Do you think she can see the glove? No way in H%$^&. Indication for the pass.’
Oh, but that’s not a TD field. It sure is! Nice tall broomstraw like this holds scent well, and we will choose this for the beginner TD dogs.
This is a local, and very commonly used, test site.
I love fields like this! You can't see the dog so you must rely on watching the line which can still give you a great deal of information. The line goes slack? Good indication the dog laid down on an article. If the dog just noses the article in passing as an indication you are screwed.
I am working hard on article indication with Buster! Working to get that DOWN at the article! He does it great in the house! Progressing to outside and other areas! He doesn't want to get his belly wet! Should I WAIT for the down in the field???. . .or just keep working on that outside of tracking? (waiting out a hound can be 30 seconds to a minute or 2!) I don't want to squash his enthusiasm for following the scent.
I don’t get it.
