I wrote theses decades ago, when I gave my first seminar. They have withstood the test of time.


THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF TRACKING

  1. Thy dog is never wrong

  2. Thy dog must be allowed to investigate

  3. Retrieving—anything—is always good

  4. Thou shall locate the wind

  5. Thou shall always be able to refind the track

  6. Thou shall always carry a spare article

  7. Thee and thy dog shall always play with the article for one full minute

  8. H2O before you go, & carry it too

  9. Thou shall faithfully keep a log

  10. Thou shalt never step in front of thy dog
