Snowy day fun

I made this video for one of you…and thought I’d share with everyone. Here’s an easy indoor article game, can be played with a glass of wine, spirits, or a beer. The dog is playing for his dinner. The tossed treat is really for a better camera angle, but if your dog crowds you so you can’t switch articles out, toss a cookie! Coming back and indicating is a perfect loop. I suggest 2 articles, and absolute silence from the trainer. Use a clicker, or mouth click. Food is delivered ON THE ARTICLE—NOT NOT NOT from your hand to the dog’s mouth. Do this one meal a day and see what happens to your article indication!

I have the same question- you’re looking for any interaction with the article vs the dog’s actual trained article indication? If Otter starts to pick up the articles and I can’t put the food on the article, should I just put the food on the floor? Take the article from him, set it on the ground, and place food on it?

So you are not looking for a specific indication? Just for the dog to acknowledge the article, then food down?

Yup! (Sorry, just found your question). Before he can walk he must crawl. Before I can ask for more, I must get article recognition. If he doesn’t recognize articles lead to reinforcement, how can I ask for the article to cue a behavior?
