Close your eyes

Observing behavior is more than watching. Find a safe, level place to track. Put in a one turn track. Now go get your dog. Get to about three feet from the start flag and….close your eyes. Yup. Let’s your arms and hands tell you the dog is on the track. Concentrate on the feel of pressure on the lead, and react to changes. Sure, open your eyes to check your flag and make sure the dog is correct—and then close them again. Listen to footfall patterns, listen for the sounds of him sniffing. Tune up your senses of touch and hearing!!!
